Butterfly binding
I photographed the interiors of rooms where 13 of my friends live, along with the exterior views outside their apartment doors. Combining these images with the script of the film Buried, I used layout design to explore the condition of "living inside a cube enclosed by four walls," as reflected both in real life and in artistic narratives. I experimented with a binding format that merges butterfly binding and pop-up book structures in order to best convey the physicality of the cube.
